Charles E. Dietrick and his wife Lola had a vision for a Church of God congregation in Livingston County when they began their ministry in 1925. A tent meeting was held on Page Field with Adrian DeWard and Clyde Thompson as evangelists. Services were held for two years in the old Post Office on Northern Michigan Ave in Howell.
The Dietrick's then started a Sunday School at the old Harger School four miles south of Howell on Pinckney Road. The school had frequently been used for services by various groups since the late 1800's.
Full church services began in 1930 with Rev. Dietrick continuing to serve as a bi-vocational Pastor. A new building was started in 1939 and completed in 1943.
The church was pastored by Rev. and Mrs. Doyle Helbling from 1944-1946.
Rev. Allen Hancock served bivocationally as Pastor from 1947-1971 during which time the church experienced considerable growth. A larger sanctuary was and parsonage were built which serve the church to this day.
Rev. Richard Latham was the first "full time" pastor and served from 1971-1974.
Rev. Timothy Andreanopolus served from 1974-1978.
Rev. Charles Hawkins began his ministry in 1978 and was followed by Rev. Duane Moore. Rev. Paul Kirkpatrick served as Interim Pastor during 1996 and 1997.
Rev. Don & Joanne Hendrick and their family were served as bi-vocational pastors from 1997 to 2005.
Rev. Don & Phyllis O'Leary were called to serve part-time as Pastors of Visitation in the spring of 1998.Then served as Intrim Pastor from March 2005 until January 2006.
Rev. Mike & Angela Harris were called in August 2006 to serve as our full-time pastor and are currently serving.
